Δ∞ [Infinite Delta] is an interactive kinetic installation/performance. A physical structure built by triangular planes and controlled by a series of servomotors. Reacting to the movement of the audience, sound and generative sequences, the structure reacts and modifies its shape.
In Euclidean geometry any three points, when non-collinear, form a unique triangle and determine a unique plane. Nevertheless, in quantum physics the string theory proposes that fundamental particles may also have similarities with a string. It also states that the universe is infinite and in it all matter is contained. In this “multiverse”, our universe would be just one of many parallel existent universes. What would happen then if we multiply triangles infinitely? Could [ou Would?] we have access to those parallel universes?
This show is the result of an artistic residency by Boris Chimp 504 & Alma D’Arame in December 2014, where an hybrid kinetic structure was created, between the physical and the virtual world.
By augmenting the physical world overlaying it into the digital world, a mixed/parallel reality was created where real elements interacted with virtual ones, in order to create new alternative, magic and hyper-sensorial landscapes to the observer.
